Lee Saunders and Carter McCrea are
friends. They work together. They discuss books and movies, their lives
and their dreams. There's no detail too personal, no subject too
taboo—except one. How they feel about each other.
Lee loves him, has loved him almost since the first moment she laid eyes
on him, but Carter is taken. He's been with the same woman for years and,
with wedding bells tinkling in the distance, Lee has resigned herself to a
fate of platonic friendship and lively fantasies. And then everything
changes.
Carter's girlfriend unexpectedly breaks it off and, devastated, Carter
looks to Lee for comfort. Finally Lee's fantasies are fulfilled—in myriad
ways she never dreamed—but her world is still far from perfect. Despite
the break-up, Carter's ex isn't through with him. She has another agenda
where Carter is concerned and works diligently to see it through to
completion. Lee fights to hang on to what is hers, but encounters some
surprising obstacles along the way and realizes that no one in her life is
exactly what they appear to be.

[Carter] was unexpectedly sexual and I loved it when he threw a little
humor or playfulness into their lovemaking. The humor in the story was
great! Lee was also a very likable heroine; at first, I thought she was
going to be a little passive but whenever confronted with something, she
was just as mean as she could be. DUPLICITY is a perfect contemporary
erotic romance. ~

Duplicity is aptly named. Nikki Soarde has written a delightful and witty tale of so much duplicity that you almost need a scorecard. The adventure is written with style and fun and so many twists and turns you won’t want to put it down. Great job for Nikki Soarde. ~

DUPLICITY is Nikki Soarde’s first book with Ellora’s Cave, and she has done a fantastic job. This is a tale of two friends who find a comfort in each other in everyday life, but an encounter turns their relationship into a blaze of passion that burns its way through the rest of the story. Their steamy relationship extends from their homes, to their work, to the public arena, but it is all driven by an underlying emotion that slowly blossoms throughout the story. Every point of this tale is an exciting and bold journey to love for these two great characters. ~

The book is full of a lot of titillating sex scenes, some of which are more daring than others, but they are well written and not overblown. Cater turns out to be a big softie, and the romantic scene he sets up at the end of the story is to die for (insert big sigh here). A quick and entertaining read that is sure to turn the heat up for any reader. ~
